Melbourne – Brunswick – Mt Buller – Chadstone – Great Ocean Road

Here are some of my personal favourites from my recent trip to Melbourne.

This is the first time I travelled with Shilah’s family and this made the trip extra special as I get the opportunity to get to know them better and feel more comfortable around.

First off we head to Brunswick where we spend 3 nights there. We stayed at Position Perfect and indeed it was a perfect position as from our room corridor we can get a clear view of the city. As for Shilah and Norisha they got a room with balcony view of the city.

Some of my favorite things to do in Brunswick are:

1.     Shop for halal meat at Sydney Road

2.     San Churros

3.     Lord of Fries

Next off, we head to Mount Buller! Mount buller is about a 3-4 hours drive from Brunswick. We stayed at homely – Alpine Creek Cabin. Alpine Creek Cabin is also ‘position perfect’ as its only 10mins away from the main gate of Mount Buller but however you need to drive about 20mins to the small city to find shops. So make sure you get your necessities before heading over to the cabin. The cabin is perfect for family time as it offers a cozy environment, filled with boardgames and no wifi.

After a good 2 snowboarding day, we head to Chadstone where Shilah’s school is located and helped her with her necessities. After setting things up, we head on to The Great Ocean Road.

Definitely the best drive I had. (so far)

The journey and the curvy road are filled with mesmerizing views.Do note that a one-day trip to The Great Ocean road is not recommended. Do not rush to get through but instead stop at every possible stop and embrace the beauty all around it. We did a one-day trip and regretted but then again it gave me a reason to revisit.

After The Great Ocean road we head back home and prepare to depart leaving Shilah to pursue her dreams. There will be many moments in life where you are left in a hard situation and this is one of them;for me
