When I first found out about this place through Instagram, I know I have to find this place and trek up to the top to witness the beautiful vast landscape of Krabi. Dragon Crest Mountain or more locally known as Khao Ngon Nak is located near Ao Nang.

Krabi is world famous for its beautiful beaches and limestone formation, so finding out about this unique of the beaten path trail was a gem. It's interesting how through the right social media platform we reach new discovery through like-minded travellers who seek the same thrill

Getting here is pretty easy, just hire one of the drivers along the road to bring you to the base, then get their number to call them once you are done with your trek. There is no need to book from any tour group, guide or agent because the trek up is pretty straight forward.

The beginning of the hike is flat and slowly picks up its ascend as we trek deeper. Despite the blistering hot weather, the journey is almost entirely under the canopy of the jungle.

Trekked all the way up till we reach the first viewpoint and continued for another 45mins before reaching a 'Y' junction. Left to the summit and right to the waterfall.

The whole journey up and down took about 4 hours and I am really thankful to have my siblings along for this short adventure. It was their first time trekking to a summit and it was great that they enjoyed the view and hopefully spark an interest in them to go higher.
