Another year, another map! This time, #shilagoeslangkawi!
I am very thankful to have found an amazing Airbnb host, Pei Pei who showed us to the other side of Langkawi. - untouched, peaceful and filled with activities.
GETTING HERE
Direct flight to Langkawi from Singapore is expensive so we took Malaysia Airline transiting in Kuala Lumpur then to Langkawi.
PRE-ARRIVAL
My Skype dates with Shila has been about how much she misses the kampung vibes, her friends and our local traditional foods. I did my research and found homely Wu Senses Sanctuary.
I would highly recommend staying here simply because of the host, Pei Pei and the location of this sanctuary.
It is located 10mins from the airport and prior to our arrival, Pei Pei hooked us up with Zaemi who then provided us with our transportation for the trip.
We arrived at about 12noon and since we could only check in at 3pm, Zaemi recommended that we quickly visit the skybridge via skycap and that we should book the crystal glass gondola and we so glad we did.
After being amazed by the panoramic view that the skybridge offers, we head to meet Pei Pei and plan what we could do or eat in Langkawi.
So after a quick discussion, here are the things that we did!
TAKE NOTE
- If your driving up to Gunung Raya, do know that the road down is dark with no lights.
- Ask Pei Pei for the best nasi lemak joint for breakfast.
- The best beaches are in the north.
- Laksa stalls along pantai Cenang are sold out everyday.
- A weekend is definitely not enough to cover Langkawi
Thank you Malik, Rasul, Boon, Yana, Norisha and Hirman for making this year annual trip happen. Ooorah! Malik is back!
